  • Prepping For Emergencies

On Sunday morning, April 26 from 10:00 until noon, join HEA member and emergency preparedness expert Stew Goldfarb in learning how you can be ready in case there should be an emergency.

Many people won't prepare at all because they consider "prepping" the realm of the strange people in the "Doomsday Preppers".  Others who consider themselves preppers are not actually preparing for the most likely disasters and the emergencies they may face.  They focus on meteor strikes and other unlikely events.

More than 70% of American's are not prepared for even the most basic disruption of normal life.  The following is a list of events taken from the news over the past 6 years: Ice Storms, Hurricanes, Flooding, Blizzards, Contaminated Water, City Riots, Tornadoes, Massive Recession, Stock Market Crash, Real Estate Crash, Earthquake, and Large-Scale Fires.

Understanding and preparing for basic survival that may arise from natural occurring disasters is responsible.  Not prepping for the basics is simply irresponsible.

What we will talk about is preparing for your 6 primary needs: water, food, energy, security, shelter, health and sanitation.  Secondary needs include: money, path to recovery, comfort, morale, entertainment, information & communication, a sense of normalcy.
